Creative Fashionista explores Planetarium

Last Friday I and my girl friends went to visit a Planetarium here in Bangkok. The place was full of displays of scientific experiments and animal models.

We visited the place for two reasons: 1) to expose the two kids - both my godchildren - to science and 2) to spend the holiday as bonding time for friends.

My godchildren, Justin and Alex, were fascinated with the moving lights.

Fashion Don't! My fashion faux pas ...

I used to have regular posts on Fashion Don't Celebrity Outfits. I search for outfits that make eyebrows rise and then ask you if it's a fashion faux pas or not. Answers may vary but majority usually demand to add them to our Fashion Don't list! And yet, when I saw the post of Erika, the photo of her as a girl before she was a fashionista, it made me realize, I have my own share of fashion faux pas. In fact, tons of them. So why not share even one?

I can't help myself but laugh when I saw this photo after like 6 years. It really is funny to see my style before the fashionista days.I wore only Jag for jeans and I thought I was cool. My bag can only be JanSport backpack or sling. I made a promise to myself that even though I'll grow older, I would never carry handbags and shoulder bags that are so girly-like. I'd carry only JanSport.

I checked my closet tonight and saw no JanSport bag. I believe I didn't have JanSport for years now.

Boy, see those shoes?!

If you too have your own story of fashion faux pas, submit them at BYWH - Before You Were Hot!

Fashion is everywhere

“Fashion is not something that exists in dresses only. Fashion is in the sky, in the street, fashion has to do with ideas, the way we live, what is happening.” ~ Coco Chanel

the best sweethearts: Justin and Alexis

It's been a while since I posted some personal photos in this blog; but a little while back, I and my friends visited a zoo here in Bangkok and it was a great experience. It's always amazing to see some lovely creatures that we don't come across on a daily basis. Thus, let me share with you the beauty of creation that my lens happened to capture.

My outfit: How a scarf transformed my simple dress

aaaaa

Bustin' from the day job plus tutorials, I'm terribly tired right now. Do apologize me girls if there aren't much I can share today, however, in this outfit, you can see how my shiny little brown scarf transformed my very simple cream sunday dress into something stunning. I wore the scarf reversed, the ribbon at the back.

So excited for the weekend. Can't wait!

Try fashion like Italy

When I first saw these photos from an Italy fashion Show, I was totally smitten. And I never got over it.

I'm sure you would understand why. Look carefully at the combinations, the play of colors and of cuts and of that something that I really want to put in words but I couldn't. But let me try.

Perhaps, what really caught me is the notion of creating a street fashion look in a very sleek way. Can you think of any street fashion you'd wear at day time running around the city and at a dinner party straight away?

What about these?

You don't have to entirely copy the look but you can get the idea and start making your own combinations.

Early morning today, after I was hurriedly dressed up for school, I quickly checked my inbox. One of our avid readers here at Creative Fashion sweetly requested if I can do some "My outfit" posts. Yeah, it's quite a time now that we don't have some outfit posts on here, but guess what? sometimes, life can be so choking and exhausting that prepping one's self for some fabulous outfit poses is nearly impossible. Sometimes, the reality of life can be so demanding.

But of course, despite those some harshness in life, we girls should never ever let ourselves defeated. Sometimes, we just have to recover our energy and be rightly fabulous again.

Side Mall Fashion Vendors in Bangkok

Another thing that impresses me about Bangkok is the way people strive to earn. You go stroll the entire Central World and on the 5th and 4th floor, you would see people, especially university students spreading blankets or mats on the floor selling cheap fashion items. You would see them at night, after school, or for some people, after work, selling fashion products at very low price. Not only would you find many displays inside the mall but even outside the ground floor. They actually take a big space.

Another shoes from chaps: so girly, so lovely

“A woman with good shoes is never ugly. They are the last touch of elegance” ~ Coco Chanel

If you buy shoes to be accessorized with a dress, purse and jewelries rather than a dress to be accesorized with shoes etc, then you have shoe fetish.

I am one of those great lovers of shoes we call shoe fetish. Thus my blog Shoe Fetish Corner.

And now, one of my babies finally have said "hello" to the world. And they are from chaps.

Little black dress from haas

"When a little black dress is right, there is nothing else to wear in its place ..." Famous quote by a duchess.

We all girls of fashion know that the must of having an LBD [little black dress] is attributed to Coco Chanel. Her designs of little black dresses were so versatile, elegant and timeless that were worn by so many great and famous women; Princess Diana as my favourite.

The little black dress is essential. Every woman is ought to have it in her wardrobe. They don't have to be numerous, they only have to be few, at least one, simple but elegant black dress that can be worn up or down depending on the occasion.

I was really lucky during the tremendous "end of the season" sales of most high end products on Christmas, I was able to grab myself another LBD.

This little black dress is from haas. My pocket was hurt just a bit when I got it because it was at 50% off.

If you noticed girls, I don't wear jewelries. My fave accesories are only scarves, shoes and bags. But now, if you could see clearly that one finger of the left hand, there's a ring on it. ;)

I observed that haas is actually becoming my favorite brand. I was not concious for a while. I am loving it.

A happy new year's gift: so lovely boots

Hello girls. With so much guilt from such a long absence, I greet everyone a happy new year. Happy New Year! I hope you all had a wonderful time and had enjoyed the vacation. I had a good time myself although being unable to blog the entire vacation was not part of the plan.

Anyway, for a glimpse on some of my fashion from the vacation, I show off in this post the very wonderful boots that I got from Chaps [CPS]. Girls, believe, they are so breath-taking. I was not planning to get them. I was on my way to the counter to pay for my honey's t-shirts when I saw them on the rack. I was entirely mesmerized. Boyfriend was finding me wondering what took me long; then he saw me trying on these lovely boots. Seeing them on me, he said "Go, get it."

Alright, so it's really really late now, gotta go to bed. Hope to catch you all and visit tomorrow. lovely!
